Nov 2, 2014: Toronto Book Launch during Holocaust Education Week
The Neuberger Centre and Baycrest Terrace present the Toronto book launch during Holocaust Education Week of Myra Giberovitch’s Recovering from Genocidal Trauma: An Information and Practice Guide for Working with Holocaust Survivors. The Centre invites you to join them on November 2nd for the author’s presentation at 2:00 pm. Myra will discuss Holocaust survivors’ adaptation, recovery, contributions to their communities, and the association between aging and trauma. Featuring an introduction by Baycrest’s Shoshana Yaakobi and response from the Neuberger Centre’s Michelle Fishman, this program engages participants in dialogue about the importance transmitting the Holocaust memory to subsequent generations. This program will be of particular interest to social workers, descendants of survivors and individuals living and working with survivors of genocidal trauma, as well as the general public.
