Feb 18, 2015: Myra to speak at Concordia University
A Pioneering Journey: Strengths-based Approach to Working with Survivors of Genocide
Myra will be presenting at Concordia University in Montreal on February 18, 2015. She shares her life’s work with Holocaust survivors, as a social worker and the daughter of Auschwitz survivors, to develop innovative approaches in helping them recover from genocidal trauma. Her unique “insider’s” perspective and experience culminated with the publication of her book that is providing new insights for anyone who studies, interacts, lives, or works with survivor’s of mass atrocity. The event is co-sponsored by: Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling (COHDS); Montreal Institute of Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) and the Centre for Ethnographic Research in the Aftermath of Violence (CEREV).
